Steve Waite joins GlobalSign from GeoTrust where he held the positions of Marketing Director for the European operations and VP Marketing for the worldwide operations of RapidSSL.com. Following the acquisition of GeoTrust by VeriSign in late 2006, Steve played a critical role in the specialist management team assembled by GMO Internet Group to acquire GlobalSign where he now holds the position of Marketing Director, EMEA and US and acts as one of the founding board members.
Prior to joining GlobalSign Steve was the co-founder of GeoTrust Europe and RapidSSL.com and a key strategist for launching the GeoTrust brands into Europe, where he established the brand recognition and value-proposition that helped catapult GeoTrust into number one SSL Provider positions in a number of European countries.
Holding the position of VP, Marketing for the worldwide operations of RapidSSL.com, Steve led the marketing force that resulted in RapidSSL.com being cited as the fastest growing SSL Provider for 2005-2006.
Before joining GeoTrust, Steve was one of the early employees with UK based Internet security start-up Comodo, where he joined as the Marketing Manager in 1999. During his 4 years at Comodo, Steve helped establish, launch and subsequently manage the marketing and operations functions of the Comodo products. In particular he worked as part of the management team responsible for the launch of the Comodo SSL Certificate brands.
Steve holds a BA(Hons) degree in Business & Management, specialising in Marketing Strategy, from Sheffield Hallam University.
