Business Development Director, Board of Directors Steve Roylance joins GlobalSign with extensive senior management experience in several global high technology companies and Certification Authorities operating throughout the world.
Prior to joining GlobalSign, Steve was appointed as Business Development Director, Europe for GeoTrust where he successfully evangelised new technology such as the Adobe Certified Document Services product range to key industry verticals to help build a Global CDS market expected to reach $2M in 2008.
Before joining GeoTrust, Steve also held the position of Technical Marketing Director for 3 years with Comodo – where he led the growth of Comodo’s SSL Certificate brand (InstantSSL) and other products.
In May 2005 Steve initiated a call to action to leaders in the Certification Authority and Browser industry which later became the CABForum delivering specifications for the next generation of Extended Validation SSL Certificates.
Five years in the pan European Sales and Marketing role within Fujitsu Components with direct P&L responsibility for a €15M portion of the European business gave Steve vital management experience in supporting and growing a European wide customer base for the Fujitsu product range.
Steve graduated in 1990 with an honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He was sponsored through university by International Computers Limited (ICL) which later became part of the Fujitsu group. By the time Steve moved over to Amsterdam in 1998 to head up the marketing department for Fujitsu Components, he’d held several management roles within the ICL Engineering Services group responsible for development contracts in excess of £2M to many major blue chip companies.
Steve holds a BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Aston University.
