Simon joins GlobalSign from ASL Designs Ltd, a design consultancy he founded that has run a number of highly successful design projects for Clients in the Medical, Media and Consumer markets. As well as providing a complete outsourced Product Development function Simon also advised clients on Rapid Product Development techniques, Product Certification, Development team Management and Process Improvement. He has managed off shore development and manufacturing teams, and has a wealth of experience in the complete product development lifecycle.
In 2000, Simon was invited to create and lead an Engineering Department by Myacom, a start up joint venture with Ericsson. Simon rapidly set up a highly efficient team with Hardware, Software and Mechanical disciplines, and created ISO 9000 compliant processes later used as models for other start ups. Simon was responsible for all aspects of new product developments, and Myacom quickly enjoyed very high volumes of sales to blue chip customers including British Telecom. By providing best in class design, regular product innovations and managing costs, he was instrumental in quadrupling profit margins in an intensely competitive market.
Prior to joining Myacom, Simon held the role of Design Group Manager at Telspec Ltd, a telecommunications equipment supplier to many of the worlds leading operators. Simon held a wide range of development roles in a Hardware, ASIC and Software design capacity, and quickly progressed to manage projects and teams. He led the team that developed highly successful ISDN and DSL products sold against global competition to demanding customers such as Deutsche Telekom and Telstra.
Simon graduated from Nottingham Trent Polytechnic with a BSc (Hons) in Electronic and Electrical Engineering.
